Kusama: Infinity 2018
- 80 minutes
"Our earth is only one polka dot among a million stars in the cosmos."
She hallucinates polka dots, and from them she created a world of her own - and we are obsessed with it. Today in her 80s, residing in a mental institution, Yayoi Kusama is still producing art at the same manic pace with her iconic polka dot imagery. Kusama: Infinity digs into the journey Kusama embarked on to become one of the most prominent contemporary artist in the world - from her conservative upbringing in Japan, Kusama spearheading the avant-garde movement in New York where she rivaled Andy Warhol, to opening her own museum in Tokyo in 2017.
