The Curse Of La Llorona [2019]

At first, we think The Curse Of La Llorona as a standalone horror film, but the Conjuring Universe connection makes this film more than just a standard horror film, because it injects diversity into a horror film franchise then used to focus on Western evil entities and folklore. Imagine an Asian horror character in this horror universe. La Llorona gives us some new inventive jump scares using safety mirrors and clear bubble umbrella, but most of all, it is Raymond Cruz's stunning performance as evil fighter Rafael Olvera that gives it a cult status.
