A Ghost Story is a story about death, legacy and human's place in the vast universe, told from a ghost's perspective. Young couple (Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara) living in a suburban house, where strange noises happen from time to time. One day, the man dies in a car crash, and becomes a ghostly figure to watch her in their home until she moves away.
The film takes on the ghost's perspective. Sometimes you see a long shot of saddening moment but you can only be a helpless spectator. Sometimes, months, years and centries of time flies by in a blink of time. When the last will of regret or remorse is over, we (the ghost) can finally leave this world behind.
This poetic film gives you a lot to think about after the credits roll.
