Au Revoir L'été

The film title refers to Mikie's (Tsuruta Maya) summer holiday, as she returns to her coastal hometown along with her in-bloom niece Sakuko (Nikaido Fumi). Mikie renews ties with two former flames, love hotel manager Ukichi (Furutachi Kanji) and academic Nishida (Otake Tadashi), and tangled intrigue ensues. Meanwhile, Sakuko pursues high-school dropout Takashi (Taiga), whose socially awkward manner and absent family are connected to his experience as a survivor of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
