Distant Thunder

Like any other city in China, modern-day Chongqing is a place full of contrasts. The ever-growing class divide means that the rich can afford luxuries, like Starbucks, far beyond the means of simple labourers. The protagonist Zhao Po, a geeky college student with good grades, comes from humble backgrounds. But a traumatic past, coupled with his awkwardness around girls and an obsession with social status, would eventually lead him down a dark path.
