In Russia, after the end of World War II, many 16 to 18 year old girls were sent to the fields of northern country to clear mines left after the Nazi invasion.
 
And though so different in temperament, the two young girls in one village are also ripe for love.
 
Marusya is a promising artist, who can sign and play the guitar. Polina is a young widow learning to live without her beloved. But the destiny prepared for each girl her own waltz on the mine fields.
