French director Claude Chabrol, one of the founders of French New Wave movement which changed filmmaking in late-1950s and 60s, has passed away today (September 12). He was 80.
His first film, Le Beau Serge, was considered as one of first films of the New Wave movement, or nouvelle vague, which also included the likes of Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard.
