Scary Stories... carries great cinematography, and reminds you of those anthology TV series like The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits or even Tales From The Crypt. However, the best part of the film is the portray of the evil entity - Sarah Bellows, whose book tells the scary stories and brings out the monsters in the film. Rotten toe in soup, spiders coming out of pimple, or any pale lady that consumes people in hallway cannot do more damage than fake rumours. Sarah Bellows was actually a victim but discredited and became a haunted force, and in turn, leads to more victims. Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark reflects on this fake news phenomenon and turns it into a haunted story.
