Belleville Rendez-Vous

This oddball animated feature in silent film style recounts how Madame Souza has brought up her grandson Champion to become a Tour de France cyclist but Champion is kidnapped by the French mafia during the race. Madame Souza pedals a paddleboat to Belleville (New York) with her dog Bruno in pursuit of Champion. The Triplets of Belleville, who were background singers to Josephine Baker, lend Madame Souza more than a helping hand.
