My Name Is Salt

// Plot_Synopsis

Every year, India's monsoon rains flood the salt fields of Gujarat, and thousands of salt workers descend on the desert to harvest one of the world's greatest commodities. Farida Pacha's beautifully photographed observational documentary follows Sanabhai for months on end as he and his family rake and tamp salt as families like them have done for hundreds of years. The process and their day-to-day lives are given equal weight and bring a lyricism to the season's end when Sanabhai packs up until next year.
