What Now? Remind Me

Not just another film about AIDS. Filmmaker Pinto, diagnosed in the 1990s, chronicles his exploration of alternative drugs against a lyrical background of his growing understanding of a global epidemic, his construction of a world of love in the Portuguese countryside with his lover Nuno and their quartet of dogs, and the sheer effects of medication, illness, hope and despair. Rather than a film about victims, medicine or politics, this is a meditation on life and infirmity, framed by beauty as well as poignant human concerns.
