Dearest

Based on a true story, the film follows Tian Wen-Jun (Huang Bo) and his ex-wife Lu Xiao-Juan (Hao Lei) as they search frantically for their missing three year-old son Pengpeng. Years later, after numerous dashed hopes, they find Pengpeng living with Li Hong-Xin (Zhao Wei). But their reunion with the vastly changed Pengpeng proves difficult, and Hong-Xin convincingly claims that she is unaware that the child - who now calls her mother - was originally stolen. Besides a smart thriller, Dearest is a morally complex tale of opposing parents bound by desperate and unyielding love for one child.
