A Young Patriot

Zhao Chatong from Shanxi Province was born in 1990. At age 19, he was already a fervent Mao worshipper and a nationalist who waved his country's flag in protest against the Japanese claims over Diaoyu Islands. But as Du Haibin follows Zhao from his teenage years into his adulthood, the young man's idealism begins to fall away, just as his own failures and frustrations start to mount amid the background of China's shifting political landscape.
