Michel Racine is a dreaded Assize Court head judge. As hard on himself as he is on others, he is nicknamed "the two-digit head judge". Anyone found guilty in his court is bound to get more than ten years. Everything is turned upside-down when Racine sees Birgit Lorensen-Coteret again. She is part of the jury that will have to pass judgement on a man accused of homicide. Six years prior, Racine was in love with this woman. Almost in secret.
