The historic phenomenon of the Buena Vista Social Club exposed the world to Cuba's vibrant and warm culture, spreading the power that music holds. This music became a medium of liberation, looking directly into the eyes of discrimination and political conundrums. The Buena Vista Social Club sings that when music becomes an expression of love, there will be no boundaries to stop them. In 1999, director Wim Wenders released a captivating documentary that followed the ensemble's journey and listened to their remarkable story. 18 years later, director Lucy Walker takes one last look at the road the band once took, and revisits the untold history of the passionate musicians and their sound.
