Michael's mysterious job involves traveling alone along the Alpine roadways in physical disguises to spy on possibly dishonest workers. He also keeps a distant and watchful eye on Anna, a pained and mournful woman wrestling with a secret tragedy. The lives of these two isolated individuals unexpectedly intersect, eventually suggesting that the stalker and victim are not as they first appear to be.
