For years, the New Delhi government employed captive langurs to keep smaller monkeys at bay. Due to outcry from animal rights activists, this practice was eventually banned. But something still has to be done about all those macaques now roaming free around government complexes and residences. Hence, the need for a new position: monkey repeller.
