Gintama On Theater 2D: Baragaki-hen
// Plot_Synopsis
The devil vice-commander of the Shinsengumi, Hijikata Toushirou, had a new errand boy named Tetsunosuke Sasaki. Although Tetsunosuke came from the elite Sasaki family, a well-known household of the shogunate, he was a problem child that no one could handle. After being passed around various posts, he ended up with the Shinsengumi.
With Tetsunosuke's frivolous attitude, Hijikata felt irritated but still tried to remain rational and cared for him. One day, he encountered the commander of the Mimawarigumi, an organization consisting of many elites among the police, Isaburou Sasaki. Isaburou was Tetsunosuke's half-brother from the same father but looked down on him, calling him a "good-for-nothing" or "the illegitimate child." Hijikata, angered upon hearing this, outright challenged Isaburou, because he saw in Tetsunosuke his past self, a hopeless Baragaki.
Upon learning of Hijikata's past, Tetsunosuke reinvented himself and resolved to become stronger just like Hijikata. Entrusted by Hijikata with the task of delivering an important letter, Tetsunosuke put his all into completing the mission but was kidnapped on the way by the radical Joi group - the Kiheitai. Their goal was to take Tetsunosuke hostage, who was connected to the police, to strike down both the Shinsengumi and the Mimawarigumi.
However, the Mimawarigumi paid no heed to their hostage and defeated the Kiheitai, even attempting to push all the blame onto the Shinsengumi, who had entrusted Tetsunosuke with the task.
Knowing that Isaburou used his own brother as a tool to wipe out the Kiheitai sent Hijikata into a rage. A full-scale war between the Shinsengumi and the Mimawarigumi is about to erupt!
