Eternity And A Day

Alexandre, a terminally ill man whose final work as a writer remains unfinished, takes his final journey in life in the eloquently melancholic and dreamlike Eternity and a Day, one of Angelopoulos' most accessible films to date. The film stars Bruno Ganz as a successful poet and author who, in the course of his wandering, rescues a young Albanian boy from a child smuggling ring. Along the way, the child’s political exile resembles his own inability to recapture the past.
