Little Girl Blue

Czech musician Iva Bittova plays Julie, a middle-aged woman whose marriage to Richard has become mechanical and passionless. On a certain morning in 2003 she sees an obituary for Nina Simone on television; the footage of the jazz singer inspires her to look for a second-hand piano. What follows is a colorful comic odyssey around Prague, during which Julie impulsively breaks up with her lover Karel, forges an intense connection with talented oddball music shop owner Ivan, discovers Richard's indiscretion, and spends some time with her daughter Cecilie.
