Meet Oskar, a 12 year old living with his mother in a typical suburban apartment outside Stockholm. Ash-blond, pale and constantly being bullied, Oskar's loneliness comes to a halt when, at the snowy playground outside the housing complex, he encounters Eli, who has been "more or less 12 years old" - for a very long time.
