Three Muslims grapple with how to reconcile their beliefs with the guilt, violence, and forbidden sexuality that are woven into the fabric of their everyday lives in Berlin. Ismail, a police officer, is conflicted with his attraction towards an illegal immigrant. Maryam, the daughter of a liberal religious leader, is moving towards ultra-conservatism that causes their relationship to disintegrate. Sammi is struggling with his faith as he is drawn to one of his male co-workers despite threats of violent homophobia.
