Concerning Violence
// Plot_Synopsis
In 1961, Frantz Fanon published the seminal anti-colonial book The Wretched Of The Earth, and it was promptly censored in France, his home country. Its provocative text remains powerful decades later, and in Concerning Violence, it is read by musician Lauryn Hill as we are shown stunning archival footage of African liberation during the '60s and '70s. As foretold by Fanon, the terrible cost of colonialism on Africa is clear today, with many of its countries torn apart by successions of war, dictatorship and poverty.
