The Empire Of Shame

// Plot_Synopsis

Partly due to its robust manufacturing industry, South Korea has risen from the ashes of war to become one of Asia's major economic forces. However, behind that success are stories of people like Hwang Sang-ki, who lost his young daughter to leukaemia that she contracted after working with hazardous chemicals at a Samsung semiconductor plant. Three years in the making, this devastating documentary spotlights the families who lost their loved ones due to the plant's dangerous working conditions, and their struggle to spread the word while going up against one of the nation's largest and most influential conglomerates.
