Song Of The Phoenix

The film tells the moving humanist tale of young Tianming, who's apprenticed to learn the suona, a traditional Chinese woodwind instrument, from the grizzled Master Jiao. Tianming strives to master the legendary funeral piece "Song of the Phoenix" and carry on Master Jiao's suona band, but as the years pass and China rushes towards modernisation, Tianming must also confront the fading relevance of his time-honoured traditional art.
