// Plot_Synopsis

The second in the 007 series finished filming on August 23, 1963 and opened two months later in the Odeon Theatre, Leicester Square, London, becoming the tip money making film of the year in the U.K.

In his second assignment, James Bond must collect a beautiful Russian Agent defecting with a valuable cypher machine known as Lektor. Unknown to "M" and 007, SPECTRE's No. 1 agent, Ernst Stavro Blofeld is behind the scheme. Not only is it his intention to set the Russians at odds with the British and to profit on selling the Lektor machine back to the Russians, but Blofeld also wants to avenge Dr. No's death by luring Bond to his own demise.

From Russia With Love remains one of the most popular of the Bond films with its pre-title sequence, the credits projected onto the female belly dancers and witty one-liners.
