Egg

Yusuf is a middle-aged poet who returns to his home town after a long absence. There, he finds a distant relative, Ayla, still living in the crumbling house. She asks him to fulfil a sacrificial rite that his mother was unable to complete before her death. The first film in the trilogy, Egg utilising rich soundscapes and stunning cinematography as well as languid quietness to illustrate the protagonist's struggle with rural life as well as his own feelings of guilt.
