Prick Up Your Ears 1987
Plot Synopsis
Set in the riotous world of 60s London, Prick Up Your Ears is a smart and witty chronicle of the turbulent lives of playwright Joe Orton and his lover Kenneth Halliwell. Based largely on John Lahr's biography and Orton's own diaries, Alan Bennett's award-winning screenplay examines their explosive relationship, while touching on the sexual politics of 60s England, when homosexuality was still a criminal offense.
