Roz (Robin Wright) and Lil (Naomi Watts) are the best of friends, and have been since childhood growing up as neighbours in an idyllic beach town. As adults, their teenaged sons have developed a friendship as strong as that which binds their mothers. One perfect summer the boys, along with their mothers, are confronted by the simmering emotions that have been mounting between them.

Before sunrise on August 29, 2005, Nolan Hayes (Paul Walker) arrives at a New Orleans hospital with his pregnant wife, Abigail (Genesis Rodriguez), who has gone into early labor. What should be one of the happiest days of Nolan's life quickly spirals out of control when the birth goes tragically wrong and Hurricane Katrina ravages the hospital, forcing an evacuation. Told to stay with his child, who is on a ventilator, and await transfer by ambulance, Nolan and his newborn are soon cut off from the world by power outages and rising flood waters. When no one returns to help, Nolan faces one life-and-death decision after another, fighting to keep his daughter alive, as minute-by-agonizing minute passes, becoming unimaginable hours.

Based on a contemporary interpretation of the classic Henry James novel, and set in present day New York City, the story centers on Maisie, an unwitting six-year-old girl enmeshed in the bitter divorce of her mother, a rock and roll icon, and her father, a charming but distracted art dealer. As Maisie is shuttled back and forth between them, she comes to rely more and more on her parents' new spouses, who begin to see how selfish and damaged Maisie's parents really are, and who find themselves falling in love with one another.

It tells the story of university nerd / otaku Wu Quan Shun (Bolin Chen) who rescues the most desired girl on campus Liang Xiao Qi (Ivy Chen) when she accidentally fell into the dried up Chrysanthemum lake. Legend has it if two people meet at the lake when it's dry, they are destined to fall in love.

Snowpiercer is set in a future where, after a failed experiment to stop global warming, an Ice Age kills off all life on the planet except for the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine. A technical failure has endangered the lives of the people on board Peninsula Flight 2549. The pilots, hardened, experienced professionals are striving, along with their colleagues in the Control Center, to find a solution. The flight attendants and the chief steward are atypical, baroque characters who, in the face of danger, try to forget their own personal problems and devote themselves body and soul to the task of making the flight as enjoyable as possible for the passengers, while they wait for a solution. Life in the clouds is as complicated as it is at ground level, and for the same reasons, which could be summarized in two: sex and death. Won-Il used to be a promising swimmer like his championship swimmer father. After his father's death from a swim competition, where he was doing his specialty called "No Breathing", his mother also passed away. Since then, he can never forgive his father and quits swimming for good. Living like there is no tomorrow with his easy-going attitude, Won-Il seems hopeless. When he is being dropped out of school, his father's longtime friend Jae-Suk drags him to get into a physical education high school to start swimming again. There he meets his long-ago rival, Woo-Sang who was always overshadowed by Won-Il. With Won-Il's absence, Woo-Sang took up the first place and grew up to be the national swim star. He is completely opposite to Won-Il in that all he cares is winning. Woo-Sang is disqualified as national athlete by getting into a trouble and starts from ground zero at the same phys-ed school as Won-Il.
Jasmine arrives in San Francisco in a fragile mental state, her head reeling from the cocktail of anti-depressants she's on. While still able to project her aristocratic bearing, Jasmine is emotionally precarious and lacks any practical ability to support herself. She disapproves of Ginger's boyfriend Chili (Bobby Cannavale), who she considers another "loser" like Ginger's ex-husband Augie (Andrew Dice Clay). Ginger, recognising but not fully understanding her sister's psychological instability, suggests that she pursue interior design, a career she correctly intuits that Jasmine won't feel is beneath her. In the meantime, Jasmine begrudgingly accepts work as the receptionist in a dentist's office, where she attracts the unwanted attentions of her boss, Dr. Flicker (Michael Stuhlbarg). Feeling that her sister might be right about her poor taste in men, Ginger starts seeing Al (Louis C.K.), a sound engineer whom she considers as a step up from Chili. Jasmine sees a potential lifeline when she meets Dwight (Peter Sarsgaard), a diplomat who is quickly smitten with her beauty, sophistication and style.

In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth.
